In modern style cabinetry, we are seeing slab doors with light wood grains. Those wood grains can be horizontal or vertical – both lend themselves perfectly to a modern style.

As for flooring, we are still selling gray tile, gray wood look vinyl and gray toned wood. Those are still beautiful and still on-trend. They work in many homes of all different tastes. We aren’t suggesting this trend is over, but we do love what we are seeing on designer’s posts and in industry magazines-light maple, light oak, light hickory wood looks for flooring. Any of these are complimentary to darker wood furniture or to painted cabinets.
Light wood flooring can be made to look modern with a clear pine,
Can be rustic with a knotted hickory
or traditional with an oak.
